Our Gear is Basically Swapped
We’ve replaced more than half our gear at 78, so here’s what we’re sportin’:
Gear from Outland:
Shattered Sun Pendant of Might
Dory’s Embrace
Rift Stalker Gauntlets
Rift Stalker Leggings
Angelista’s Revenge
Vindicator’s Band of Triumph
Battlemaster’s Determination
Vengeful Gladiator’s Waraxe
Gear from Leatherworking in Northrend
Swiftarrow Helm
Swiftarrow Shoulderguards
Swiftarrow Hauberk
Swiftarrow Bracers
Swiftarrow Belt
Swiftarrow Boots
Gear from Quests in Northrend
First Mate’s Pocketwatch
Hemet’s Trophy Gun
Gear from Engineering in Northrend
The Swiftarrow Set is designed to be an introductory PvP set, while retaining excellent PvE stats. We think it performs its job admirably. Our Resilience is a sporty 294 and health tops 14.6k. Our Hit Rating has suffered almost a 50% reduction – hardly ready for raiding – but our Crit Change is over 22%, up from 17% when we fist started crafting the Swiftarrow set.
And is anybody gonna b!tch about >500dps white damage? We didn’t think so.

Where is your +10 frost resistance for being a dwarf?
They changed the racials, so a dwarf now gets something like less damage from frost damage, I think.
Can you give us any idea as to how difficult it is to obtain the full Swiftarrow set? Will it cost us an arm and a leg?
brk your out of ammo!
Heh… and you get to do all this over again in 4 weeks time….
That swiftarrow set looks nice. I’m gonna have to hit wowhead and see what other professions and other leather-wearing classes can get their hands on….
What about the [MAMMOTH CUTTERS] bullets/arrows? They add a very nice damage, compared to “old” Outland ammos. Can you tell us a little more about mats and price? Are these ammos easy to craft/buy? Price, more or less?
Oof, 68 hit rating doesn’t go far at all at level 78 (let alone 80.)
Those shoulders… well, they ain’t great-lookin.
how’s your build and your pets build looking atm brk?
Yes please, I really want to see your build! I can put together a raiding spec pretty well right now, but I don’t know what to do for a levelling spec for my hunter. More points into Endurance Training and Thick Hide for tanking? What about Longevity?
Red hunter needs spec badly!
The mammoth cutters are from the ultrasafe bullet machine (engineeering). 6 saronite bars and 4 volatile blasting triggers (6 cobalt bars, 2 crystallized waters) makes one bullet machine. One bullet machine makes 200 mammoth cutters per charge, 10 charges. I can make these on the beta (northrend), feel free to send me an in-game mail (kaelisra) if you want some made. I don’t have a lot of free time at the moment so it might be a bit til I get back to you.
Would anyone happen to have screen shot of the full swift arrow set? Just curious about how it looks.
Re the LW set, does LW seem like a useful profession in Wotlk? Any profession especially appealing for hunters?
Have the talents settled down enough for there to be some consensus on a BM talent build for leveling?
Thanks for a great site!
the materials for the Swiftarrow set only requires some Heavy Borean Leather and also Eternal Airs (one per piece).
there’s 8 Swiftwarrow patterns.
Doesn’t matter what your white damage is if you can’t hit anything. Still nice to know what’s going to be out there.
Since you replaced your peacock bow, is there anything SSO badge gear that would have more longevity?
Almost anything I get will be an upgrade, but I want to get something that I’ll be able to hang onto for a decent amount of time.
Excited about the new gear.
Not so excited about that gnome haircut, Little Lord Fauntleroy…
Dargonaut since hes still wearing t5 legs and gloves those shuld be chancgable by 2.4 abdge gear and also the axe is better than the vengefull one so basicly you can get those 4 pieces.
I kinda want to know how good hunters will be in 80 arenas, since I want to level a chosen pvp character to 80 first (I really don’t like the way we’re so easy to LoS atm, and have so few escapes at melee range).
Anyone got any comments on this?
Darksentinel:
If you’re looking for a PVP character, go Death Knight or Ret Pally before your hunter. Those are the most OP right now PvP wise.
So BRK, are you and a couple Lich King buddies ready to 3 man heroic shattered halls yet? Looks like you are (if you are REALLY bored)
You’re falling behind on your leveling speed dude! My deathknight is a bubble from 78, and I started the beta a few weeks after ya!
Are any of these items going to be on the AH or do you HAVE to be a LW to get this Swift set?
manito# BRK is not trying to get to 80 the fastest … the point here is to learn as much as he can and pretty much report back .. and making some decent pet videos at the same time leveling is secondary and speed is not important
on topic
so there is a pvp LW set … is there also a better pve set out there without the resilience for those of us that refuse to pvp ? or are we stuck making the Swiftarrow because they cbaed to make 2 sets because they want every1 to pvp ?
As far as I can see, all the LW gear you can get from vendors is BOE. So I can have my LW hunter make gear for the others. I am sure somewhere there will be better gear in instances and raids, but for my soloing hunters this stuff will be great.
And even my main will probably not be raiding anymore, so it’s a darn good thing I love farming!
I noticed the LW gear are pretty nice I made some good profession choices heh hey Brk only 15 ammo? but some of those upgrades look nice like the trinket
@Delta It was a joke, I was just giving him a hard time because I’ve caught him and I started at 55
I know his reasons for falling behind, largely because much of his time is spent repeating/doing menial things as part of his videos to demonstrate various aspects of the beta. Takes a lot of work to run around, getting all those different pets, leveling them, Loyalty leveling them, and then shooting the various videos with them…
reminds me I need to get my arse in gear and finish my halloween costume/
Where does one learn the crafted LW sets? Wowhead doesn’t have data on where to obtain the patterns.
