Used this video as guide for the solotaming:

http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=mpIxkYyqFHY

Pulled him with scorpid Sting, used the Draenei HOT and a Haste Potion. No purple or blue gear, only alot of stamina. I had about 11k HP. After 2 tries he was mine:-))

Solotamed him today with only green gear and Staminafood. I used a trialchar to create a Raidgroup and get into MC.

For thsoe wanting to 2 man tame, I'd like to poitn out my (mis)adventures in the core trying to tame my core hound. :)

I brought along my holy-specced priest brother for heals on this run. If you jump onto the ledge at the south and wait there for a minute or so, the Giants will loose interest and de-aggro. They can't seem to get down to the ledge, so they just stand at the side and look mornfully at you before going back to their original spot, grumbling about that damned sneaky hunter and his squishy friend.

When it came to grabbing aggro, I piled up a lot of shots on him before I started to tame. Pulled with a Steady shot, popped rapid fire, pummeled him with instant cast shots and then finally a distracting shot before he got withing melee range. My Bro still got close to pulling aggro near the end of the tame. He was at about 90%

Now, these hounds DO shake up the screen. But the ever wonderful Ghostcrawler has told us that the screen shaking will be removed come another patch. They'll still be loud and stompy though. I personally don't mind the shaking but I know it annoys the hell out a lot of other people. So, until this goes live, my Core Hound "Crucible" will remain stabled, dreaming happy puppy dreams (like mowing down Pallies in AV).

We did it a little differently. We cleared mobs first. :)

It took 3 toons on 2 accounts. I was on my hunter on my main account and dual-boxed my healing priest. I had a warrior friend of mine come along with his high avoidance to tank.

Giants at the entrance were no problem at all. Takes a little while to DPS, but the warrior takes almost no damage. The thing to watch out for is the knockback, as my priest got run at a couple of times before the warrior could get threat back.

Hardest mobs to trio are the firelords. They take forever because of the spawns, but as long as you've got a healer with a decent mana pool it's easy. My hunter just focused on the spawns and multishot added DPS to the FL. When spawns were up the warrior switched to the spawn and his multi-target damage would continue to DPS on the firelord. We had enough DPS between the 2 of us to kill the spawns and have about 2 seconds between.

Annihilators are cake. Then you just wait for the core hound to come and play with you on the bridge. :)

It's fairly easy, but your tank needs to know what he's doing. I've got enough experience dual-boxing to keep us both alive using macros on my healer, but a 3rd person would've been even better. We just couldn't find an attuned healer online.

I was determined to get a real Core Hound from MC on my level 65 hunter, and that I did earlier today (or yesterday technically since it's 4:30 am now). The group consisted of myself, another hunter, an elemental shaman, and an enhancement shaman. To pass the initial mobs, we aggroed the giants at the bridge, and then jumped down into the lava so they evaded and reset after a minute. Then we killed the two lava annihilators at the other side where we got out of the lava. It was here that I tamed the core hound (the one that walks up and stands on the ledge to the left for a few minutes).

Now I only had between 4 and 5k hp, so I had to be spammed with heals to stay alive. Also, since I was only 65, I couldn't get as much threat on the mob as a 70. This is where the other hunter came in - he MDed me to increase my threat, which helped a ton. My brother healed me on his elemental shaman, and I think the enhancement shaman helped too, though I didn't really pay attention.

I was very happy when the channeling completed and I had myself a pet core hound! I named him Magmadar. I had a lot of fun playing the rest of the day with this new and awesome pet, and I also received many compliments and questions like "omg where'd you get that pet?" A few people even thought that I had actually tamed Magmadar himself!

Weighing in as an experienced resto druid, your real friend here is Improved Tranquility. ;) That's eight seconds of balls-to-the-wall healing with no threat whatsoever at the beginning of the tame.

We just did this with me and my co-conspirator. He slapped on a bunch of +stamina cloth (since armor doesn't matter during a tame), put on Monkey for the damage reduction, and started shooting the corepup once it got into range. I hugged the wall in tree with Shadowmeld up until it closed to melee, then popped tranquility.

After that, I had more than enough wiggle-room to throw the rest of my HoTs to the end of the tame. Easy stuff.

I took my Orc hunter to Azuremyst today to tame The Kurken. I waited patiently for it to spawn, set my trap and hit Tame Beast...and got a "Beast not tameable." error. I fiddled around a bit to try and figure out what I'd done wrong, when a night elf came bouncing up and just started to tame it. Seems that he isn't tameable by Horde, or there was a GM nearby that decided I didn't need a Kurken :-P
