Thank you BRK, your so much fun to listen to in all these podcasts and films. The excitment behind your voice really keeps me interested.

This is the highlight of my morning here recently. GOing into work and Checking BRK

BRK, scrombat text (at 1:10) is a totally acceptable alternative to saying scrolling combat text. Just saying.

Also, I love your movies/blogs. Been a long time reader, no time commenter.

Question: why using a Crocodin over a Gorilladin? Gorillaz grant a better multiple-aggro, compared to Crocs. Isn’t Thunderstomp much better than Bad Attitude, in terms of AoE grind?

    How do you do it??

I just listened to your amazing episode six (well done) and finally finished reading the two epic Wowinsider articles… and here you are with another video!

Did you take a month off work or something..?

P.S. Keep up the amazingly great work :D

  6. Wolfpak on October 14th, 2008 9:26 am

@Rugus: In podcast 6, BRK said he loves his Gorilladin. But, he already did a movie on it. If I were to hazard a guess, he got the Croc to do this movie, not because he suddenly decided it was better than the Gorilla.

Is it Patch Day? I just got an email from a friend that said he logged on under a suspicion that last expansion there was a big maintenance patch exactly a month before release. He is now downloading a 1.2 GB patch?!?

I tried a lv80 premade in full pvp gear with a lv 80 bear.
Single target on 80 elite. The same Elite I could solo on a boomkin, so it should be reasonable.
No way to keep aggro on pet. Sent pet with MD, BW and intimidation, first or second Mend Pet tick, aggro on me.
I know about a Cower bug that autocasts Cower if it’s not in the pet Special bar, but I noticed yoy don’t have it.
Is it just me? I had this happening in all 3 specs, and I had to use everything, MD every 30 seconds, Taunt, Intervene, ALL to keep the elite off.
    Any idea?

    @ Wolfpak

    Right, well said.

    @ Banneker & Ulz

Yes, it’s patch day for US customers. Servers should come back at 14.00. EU customers will see the patch applied this night, and will be able to play tomorrow @ 14.00 too.

I do have a bat BRK and in my crappy quest greens at level 65 on the PTR,it wouldn’t hold aggro worth spit! One mend pet was all it took after letting it bite away for awhile.

Of course that could have been the Cower bug rearing it’s head, but I tested it on the very latest build on the PTR and it still wouldn’t hold.

And since many reported hunter bugs found were ignored, prepare to bitch on the bug forum after this moronic rush job to push out this patch.

ewww hunters, eww patch day, im bored, click my name, zzzzzz

Of course that could have been the Cower bug rearing it’s head, but I tested it on the very latest build on the PTR and it still wouldn’t hold.

Even putting Cower on your pet’s action bar, thinking you can see when Cower turns itself on, doesn’t work. You have to open your pet’s spellbook and check it.

We had this happen numerous times. When you pet, regardless of pet-class, starts not holding aggro, check the Cower spell, ASAP.

  14. Rua on October 14th, 2008 4:54 pm

    I’ve never ever used Cower.
Always seemed to run sideways to what I was trying to do.
And turning off Growl in a dungeon was good enough.

Wish there was a way to just erase Cower from the spellbook
    =(

And Crocs look like bad Gorillas..
    1min cd v. 10sec cd…

    Croc, Bat, and Raptor:

What are 3 animals the Sci-Fi channel has made crappy horror movies about, Alex?

    Ding, Ding, Ding!

  16. Marathonian on October 14th, 2008 6:30 pm

Yeah I did check it the first time I pulled aggro on the PTR.

I turned it off in the spellbook,it turned itself back on.Finally got it to stay off,at least it said it was off and it didn’t show up in the combat log.Still pulled with autoshots and a mend pet after the mob was halfway down.So either the bug has more issues that weren’t fixed,or my pet can’t hold aggro. And my gear hasn’t changed one iota.

My gear is junk quest greens. No way I should be doing anywhere near enough damage after my pet was attacking that long to yank enough aggro with autoshots and one mend pet!

I’ll be trying it again once live comes back up,but I’m not in the least hopeful.

Cower was a bugged pet ability and always has been.It should have been simply removed instead of making every pet have it and not be able to rid your pet of it like we could and did before!

Just tamed a spawn in SMV to see how beta compared to live….

He became a wee lill puppy compared to the frightening behemoth he was on beta :(

I tried to get on my gnome from the race since it was one of my only servers online….but stuck at retrieving character list. T.T

Ya gotta help me BRKinator, I’m dying of boredom here. If this keeps up, I might actually start studying for my Spanish quiz tomorrow. /shudder

@Marathonian: This may sound like a stupid question but did you check that growl was on?

  20. Marathonian on October 15th, 2008 2:52 am

    Yeah,it was on.Full Focus too.

I was testing as soon as I got on the PTR,hoping I wouldn’t have permanently stable my bat.I was afraid with the spam Screech gone,it wouldn’t be up to snuff.

I was right against the Outland mobs at my level.Whereas before I regularly soloed Elites my level without pulling unless I went all out. After letting my pet’s aggro build of course, only tossing in a mend pet to keep it alive.I usually didn’t bother to have Bite on the bar, since Screech with Growl held aggro so nicely.

Growl alone has never done enough to keep a mobs attention without a quality focus dump, such as Claw or Screech.

Now if you are going against a one target with nothing else near it,you might not have too much trouble. You get a second mob spawn on top of you though, after Sonic Blast already went off,you are going to have to flee and most likely FD.

I don’t believe it’s asking too much that a bat should be able to hold aggro on two targets if I don’t do something stupid, when before they got “improved” I’ve had up to six targets on it at once and they stuck to it like glue the whole time.

also if the pet is a lower lvl that makes a huge difference. imp growl is great too. me personally I have had an problems yet.
