coolarooni!!! very much so =D tis a shame we crashed the server and it had to be cut short
It is always nice to see a group of folks come together to celebrate the life of someone – but to have a thousand people from every time zone around the globe come together for a boy they’ve never actually met, to celebrate his memory, laugh and dance, and donate to a good cause that provided such a dream for a him, it brings such joy.
BRK, you really do rock.
Oh, what is the last song on that top video there, anyone know?
Glad to see the turn out you had and crossing my fingers for someone doing something like this on the EU servers at some point.
)
technical issues aside, it was a grand gesture, and I’m proud to have been 1/897th of it (or so). i got as far as goldshire, before the server punted me out of the game, not just the character screen. when I logged back in I was back on one of the bridges in STV, though I got the ‘exploration’ credit for the forest well ahead of that.
Wonderful. BRK and the others involved (Chosen and other guilds on Argent Dawn) thanks ever so much. Much more fun than the gnome run I have to admit
well done all.
/shibumi
@sol
The song is a requiem sung by Sylvannas for a quest.
Song is called “Lament of the Highborne”
I was thrilled to be apart of the running. Just sad that the server couldn’t handle the enthusiasm of so many players.
Good Job on the event BRK, hope all the problems and QQ’ing isn’t getting you down.
Die in a fire, jackass.
Never feed the troll. It was hard.
Great vids – truly awesome experience…
/cheer for the whole dang thing in all its glory…
whats that first song called and where is it from?
OMG! At 3:10 in the first video….there I am. Serka! That’s ME standing on the dock of Booty Bay! Woot! I made it into a video! I’m still sad I didn’t manage to spot BRK, but what the heck. The event was awesome despite not going as planned.
The two songs in my vid are the Rawhide theme and (as has been said), Lament of the Highborne.
I’m surprised you didn’t take the zep from orgrimmar to gromgrol.
ok seriously i loved every parrt of that, and it was amazing how it turned out. oh and all you QQers out there, the fact that your pissed cause u couldn’t play wow for 5 mins cause we were celebrating a young boys life which ended to soon makes me sick that ppl would do that.
Music summary:
First video
Rawhide, a very popular song in the late 50’s early 60’s. Written by Ned Washington, composed by Dimitri Tiomkin and sung by Frankie Laine. Used as the theme song for the TV show that launched Clint Eastwood into stardom.
Lament of the Highborne, composed by Derek Duke and Russell Brower, sung by Vangie Gunn. You can hear this song in game three ways:
1) Complete the quest http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=9175
2) Watch the credits for the Burning Crusade (likely no longer viable once Wrath is released)
3) type this into your chat pane: /script PlaySoundFile(”Sound\\Music\\GlueScreenMusic\\BCCredits_Lament_of_the_Highborne.mp3″)
Second video
Voyager, by Daft Punk. No relation to the Pendulum song of the same name. Nothing else to say here, really.
@Euripedes
First. Thanks for the music summary.
Second. I have been asked several times what song I used in my video. BTW my video is the second one.
You are correct when saying “Nothing else to say here, really” There isn’t much on wiki or google about Voyager, by Daft Punk. I just picked a song that was not main stream and that nobody would really care about.
I’m just amused at how many people are more interested in the music instead of the the content. I had one guy tell me it sounded more like old 70’s pRon music…lol… never thought of it that way.
Cheers… Hensley
*waves from AD* thanx for joining us on the run!
Raw Hide…great choice of song on the first one…and by the Blues Brothers at that…aWSOME!
If you enjoy this at all you should see the amount of people that raid Argent Dawn as gnomes from Blackrock. We are about dead opposite in intentions but it’s a very different sort of fun.
