Ditto, because as far as I’m concerned. ArPen is a worthless stat. I’d much rather have an equivalent amount of Intellect over ArPen. The fact that it’s a percentile amount instead of a flat amount, and it’s calculated AFTER Sunder/Acid Spit and Faerie Fire/Sting makes it worthless.

And BRK, you have GOT to fix the sensitivity of WP-SpamFree. Jesus christ.

If the gear has ArP, fine. If it hasn’t, then don’t bother getting ArP to ‘make up’ for that.

The reason is twofold:

Firstly, as BM your personal DPS will take a dip compared to that of your pet. Meaning your pet will do upwards of 50+% of your DPS, that’s DPS that isn’t affected by ArP.
Secondly, ArP has been nerfed badly. While it still becomes better and better the more you have, it is much more linear now. Also, if your target recieves a raidwide -Armor debuff like Sunder Armor and/or Faerie Fire, your ArP rating will be calculated AFTER that. Meaning if you have 20% ArP from ratings and the target had 8000 armor, you will solo reduce it by 1600. With Sunder and Faerie Fire (-3925 and -1260) you will only reduce armor by 563.

Stacking ArP is thus pretty senseless. You are better off playing with AP, Crit, Hit, Agi or even Int.

Some questions I have been wondering:

Is there a soft cap on ArP?
Does going from 30-40 ArP mean the same thing as going from 230-240?
Is it situational gear we should keep a set of and only use on lower armor class bosses?

I missed the boat on ArP as a badge gear wearing hunter. I can’t wait to listen to the upcoming broadcast.

As I understand his posting, he’s extrapolated the values at this point, but nobody seems to doubt it. Combat hit rating for Hunters on the amount of +hit to reduce 1% miss are:
lvl 60 – 10
lvl 70 – 15.76923275
lvl 80 – 32.78998947

The post over at EJ also has a ton of other values, such as agility to crit at lvl 80, etc. Great work as always by Whitetooth.

Raid boss has 9% miss – so at lvl 70 that was 9*15.769 = 141.9 = 142.

At lvl 80 a raid boss is still 9% miss, so 9 *32.790 = 295.1 = 296 hit rating to not miss.

If you take the 3/3 focused aim from tier 1 of the MM tree that’s 3% reduction, so you only need 6% miss – 6*32.790 = 196.7 = 197 hit rating to not miss.

Other values like Dranaynays additional 1% hit bonus, and other raid buffs also change that value.
