It’s Not the Love Boat

“Hey BRK, where’re we goin’?”

“Occulus, Brain. We want to make a movie of the second boss.”

“Why didn’t we just fly there from Dalaran?”

“Needed a yellow gem for our new gun.”

“You bought it?”

“Yes.”

“I ask, of course, because you didn’t consult with me about this purchase.”

“You would’ve tried to talk us out of it. Like you attempted to do with our Mammoth.”

“The financial ramifications of purchasing a Mammoth at level 70…”

“BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH!!”

“Fine. Now you bought a gun?”

“Yes! Nessingwary 4000, foshizzle! It’s gorgeous!”

“Why did you buy it?”

“Because we were able to talk the engineer down 33% from what he was asking. And he threw in the scope we asked for.”

“Why did you buy it?”

“Because… it’s a huge upgrade!”

“Why did you buy it?”

“Um…”

“Why.”

“Because… it’s pretty.”

“It’s pretty.”

“BRAIN IT’S SO PRETTY! The sight is a floating arcane crosshair! The stock is wood, but the grain is amazing! It’s gorgeous!”

“You bought a pretty gun.”

“Very pretty, yes.”

“That’s it. I want the checkbook; you can’t be trusted.”

“NO NO NO! We totally left the Auction House without buying any of that wicked-cool level-80 gear, didn’t we?”

“/sigh Yes. Yes, you get credit for not blowing even more cash on stuff you’ll get once you start running heroics.”

“Yeah!”

“And you bought the 60-gold yellow gem instead of the 600-gold one that only had one more Agility and one more Hit on it.”

“Yeah!”

“You didn’t replace all your gems with the new ones.”

“Yeah!”

“You sold all that cloth instead of going for the bandage achievement.”

“Yeah!”

“You even cleared out your bank of all that sentimental stuff.”

“Yeah! Well, mostly. We kept the guns.”

“Whatever. Just no more purchases, OK? So the Occulus, is it?”

“Yes. We gemmed our gun and now we’re going to the boat in Stormwind that’ll take us to Borean Tundra.”

“Hey BRK?”

“Yes, brain?”

“Don’t freak out, but there’s a Hordie on the boat.”

“HORDE! KILL IT KILL IT KILL IT!”

/track humanoids

“I SEE IT BRAIN! WE GOTTA KILL IT!”

“Wait. Didn’t you just get a cr@p-tonne of grief from killing that Horde who was fishing in Ironforge?”

“RED DOT! RED DOT! KILL THE DOT!”

“KITTY! Calm down.”

“SEND PET! KILL KILL KILL!”

“D@MN IT! Just because you see a Hordie on the boat from Stormwind to Borean Tundra does NOT mean you have to kill it.”

“Actually, Brain, it does. It’s a Death Knight and it must die.”

“What if he’s fishing?”

“Brain, you’re tell us that the Don’t Kill Fishing-People Rule now extends to Alliance transportation vessels?”

“Yes. You don’t need to make any more readers angry. You do enough of that with the ‘lesser classes’ remarks.”

“That’s particularly funny, though.”

“Do not kill the Hordie if he’s fishing.”

“Let’s look.”

/look

“Brain, he’s just standing there, flagged as all h3ll, waiting for us to smoke him.”

“All right. Kill him.”

“YEEHA!”

/burn Death Knight into a smoldering pile of whatever-it-is DKs are made from

/watch ghoul rise from the ashes

“HEY BRAIN! BRAIN! He’s a ghoul! Can ghouls fish?”

“Probably not…”

“YEEHA!”

/rip Ghoul into particularly fine pieces of Ghoul-bits

“Brain, he’s dead. Really, and truly dead.”

“Good work. Are you happy?”

“Yes.”

“Content?”

“Yes.”

“He’s a level 58 Death Knight.”

“Yes… wait, what?”

“He is. A level 58. Death Knight.”

“NOW STOP THAT! Don’t you DARE tell us that there’s a codicil to some PvP-honor rule that says we should’ve let that ‘lowbie’ have free passage on our ship!”

“We won’t go that far. However, you are not permitted to corpse-camp him.”

“Say again?”

“Do not kill him again if he rez’s on the ship.”

/thinks

“OK, Brain. If he rez’s, we won’t bother him.”

/DK-rez

/wave at DK

/pat DK

/shoo DK

/mount and fly to Occulus

“Very nice, BRK.”

“We’re nothing if not classy.”

“And if people give you, a level 80 hunter, grief over nuking a level 58 Hordie Death Knight on the boat from Stormwind?”

/finger

“Yes, you’re pure class, BRK.”

  2. Henry on November 25th, 2008 12:45 pm

I always say, “If you’re in my house, you play by my rules. And my rules say you gotta die.”

  3. Molinu on November 25th, 2008 12:47 pm

Does Brain know that being obnoxious is part of the site’s charm? Or whatever the spork it is that keeps me reading? :-)

  4. Stupid Mage on November 25th, 2008 12:58 pm

Sorry, you’re on my boat, you gotta die.

  5. Zwingli on November 25th, 2008 1:04 pm

Sometimes the truth just hurts. The lesser classes need to realize this.

Though, I wonder why BRK is on a PvE server. He seems to have more of a world PvP mentality than a pure PvE.

    Just curious.

  6. Chesko on November 25th, 2008 1:08 pm

    Hey BRK,

Any thoughts on the threads going around about BM hunters using aspect of the beast instead of dragonhawk?

  7. Shagrat on November 25th, 2008 1:21 pm

Boats are fair game. He’d only end up at Valiance Hold anyways and would get facestomped by the guards. You did him a favor, at least he doesn’t take the 10% durability hit. Hell, if you’re doing anything but fishing in Org, I will kill you. If it’s red, it’s dead.

  8. Mikecc on November 25th, 2008 1:21 pm

“Yes, you’re pure class, BRK.” lol. love it.

  9. Lithios on November 25th, 2008 1:23 pm

the DK obviously wanted to die, suicidal DK hops on alliance watercraft story at 11. pew pew pew

  10. Regulus on November 25th, 2008 1:28 pm

    /finger should be a new emote,….

  11. Deekow on November 25th, 2008 1:31 pm

Mmm hmm… I rofl’d. I’ll admit it. Of course, now I have to run around Dun Dwarfzitswhatsit… wherever you dwarves come from, and make sure there aren’t any lowbie hunters running around mistakenly flagged, so they don’t accidentally leave their starting areas unprepared for the world at large…

  12. Teaakius on November 25th, 2008 1:35 pm

    It’s not /finger…it’s /rude. But good try.

  13. Papaoomowmow on November 25th, 2008 1:41 pm

awwww poor widdle 58 bruddah hordie….

    Oh Wait

    He was still another DK?

    Glad you killed him

glad to know i’m not the only one

  15. Anonymous on November 25th, 2008 1:53 pm

okay …i don’t understand the significance of this story ….. was entertained , yes but?

welcome to the past 4 years of wow on a pvp server ….. meh

  16. Rua on November 25th, 2008 1:57 pm

    Can ghouls fish?

Was the point where I lost it.
    Good on ya, BRK

  17. Rilgon Arcsinh on November 25th, 2008 2:03 pm

    “Yes, you’re pure class, BRK.”

    Eh…

  18. forthepie on November 25th, 2008 2:09 pm

What race was said DK? Belf and he must die. Tauren and he wins WOW. Cuz nothing says pure evil like a Tauren.

    My DK is named Cowbell.

  19. Noob Mommy on November 25th, 2008 2:17 pm

Awww… poor guy didn’t have a chance. After you got shiny new gun & fancy gem even.

  20. Aoirselvar on November 25th, 2008 2:30 pm

Seriously, why is BRK on a PvE server??? You belong to a nitty gritty mean old PvP server. The nice rules were gone a long time ago on my server. Its a doggy dog world there.

Love the post, I agree, Death Kuniguts must all die!

  21. Asara on November 25th, 2008 2:38 pm

BRK, you kill me. Seriously, I am almost crying at work from holding back the laughter, because nobody here would understand one smidgen why this is made of win.

P.S. I would place full blame on the Brain for not picking up on the level of said DK before giving you the green light. A dwarf in full battle rage cannot be held responsible for details like that.

  22. ekballw on November 25th, 2008 2:48 pm

so often lol just means a bit amusing rather than, at work reading BRK… reads /finger… laughing out loud and pounding desk with my fist. great stuff…

  23. Matt on November 25th, 2008 3:05 pm

    Hey BRK,

You did the right thing. I’m Horde, but you did the right thing. If lowbies or any level feel they are allowed to be on or in another factions area or transport, they deserve to die. Especially lowbies.

    /highfive

  24. Marathonian on November 25th, 2008 3:08 pm

Level 65 DK WTFPWND my level 72 hunter at Halaa getting barely a scratch on itself.

They were still in their 58 quest blues.I was sporting purple and blues with my nice quest reward gun from Northrend.

I hate PvP but I don’t suck THAT bad!I have downed every class and every race in the game, and they are without a doubt the biggest pain in the tuckus to bring down.Only class that’s close are pallies, especially ret pallies.

They get no sympathy from me.

    Kill em!Kill em all!

  25. Shelor007 on November 25th, 2008 3:24 pm

It is a proven fact that all Death Knights are spies for the Lich King…

Well, a lot of people think some of them are spies….

OK, I think one of them MIGHT be a Lich King spy….

Kill them all! Just to be sure.

  26. Siobhann on November 25th, 2008 3:48 pm

If it was anything other than a death knight, I would have felt sorry for the guy. As it is, he has a perfectly good main if he wants to try to return the favor. LOL!

  27. Euripides (not Euripedes the mage) on November 25th, 2008 4:04 pm

    I loled :)

BTW, if anyone wants to fish in the horde cities, during the quest chain that ends in “battle for undercity”, you end up in a phased org where the guards don’t mind you, and none of the players can see you.

  28. AltoholicsAreUs on November 25th, 2008 4:19 pm

I never thought you were wrong in the first place. The server rule was “If it’s red, it’s dead” when I played PvP. Besides, DKs need to die…. lots more often.

  29. Fosin on November 25th, 2008 4:50 pm

You floor me BRK, absolutely floor me.

  30. Dave on November 25th, 2008 5:32 pm

If only you had your Rhino with you…

  31. Cycon on November 25th, 2008 5:39 pm

I love you BRK, you make my days. I want my Hunter to be just like you

  32. Valrik on November 25th, 2008 6:04 pm

well DeathKnights have the word “Death” in their name…

… its like their asking to be killed

  33. Bacclor on November 25th, 2008 6:53 pm

    That was awesome.

How do you come up with this stuff?

    Keep it up.

  34. Erlix on November 25th, 2008 7:34 pm

Once again… Why I stay out of the opposing faction’s respective sandboxes, if I can help it. People generally can’t keep their ePeens in their pants.

  35. Nyctreinar on November 25th, 2008 7:52 pm

Look, he was flagged. the only way he could have screamed, “KILL ME NOW!” even louder would be to paint a bulls-eye on his chest.

I spent several days dying and rezzing on the Zeppelin between Orgrimmar and… Wherever the heck that Zepp goes. The dying part was no fun, but the reaction I got when all the Hordies saw a naked Gnome suddenly pop into being on “their” Zeppelin was priceless.

I think next week I’m going to take the Guild to hijack a couple of Zepps. If nothing else, it will be amusing to see a couple of hundred Hordies trying to swarm up the tower to get us off their transportation before it flies off again.

And yeah, it’s a PvE server, and I am definitely not PvP oriented.

  36. Fyve & Boomstick on November 25th, 2008 8:29 pm

The nesingwary 4000 is U.G.L.Y! The barrel Blade Longrifle is a thing of sweet sweet dwarfen craftmanship, but the nesingwary? meh. Horrible. I shall never own one even if it IS the best gun in the game

And I still say that the fun of fishing in the opposing factions city is that at any moment i could get creamed. if there is an unwritten rule that its okay… well wheres the fun?

  37. ganchara on November 25th, 2008 8:55 pm

im in ur house killin ur death kniggets

  38. Kapu on November 25th, 2008 9:46 pm

“HEY BRAIN! BRAIN! He’s a ghoul! Can ghouls fish?”

    “Probably not…”

    “YEEHA!”

    Well played. lol

  39. Xodense of Terenas on November 25th, 2008 10:21 pm

Reminds me of what happened the other day while farming Fel Iron in Hellfire, DeathKnight comes up while I’m tapping that fine ore, and goes PvP and trys tapping it. Lvl 53, trying to steal ore from a 75 Hunter. One large red lion and a bi of ‘thup, thup’ No more DK. Well, he finds me again at a nearby vein, and starts emoting. Frost Trap then fly away. =D

Nothing annoys like a Frost trap.

  40. Gekko on November 25th, 2008 10:37 pm

    LOL……one of the best BRK……….love the blog :) Kudos~!!

  41. Stang on November 26th, 2008 1:21 am

    I hear ya, BRK.

    RED DOT! RED DOT!…

I work the same way… Except on heavy-Hordie PvP servers, such conduct can get you terminated.

    P.S. Dinged 80 Sunday, got my NSW4K Monday… I feel somewhat parallel. Now the Loque’nahunt begins =D

  42. Yoco on November 26th, 2008 1:58 am

Wait a moment… A level 58 horde DK went onto the boat to borean tundra from stormwind? What boggles my mind is: why, oh why, would anyone do that? Ever? I mean, it is not precisely the easiest way for a hordie to get to borean tundra. And the welcome there will be … warm…

  43. bejeweled fan on November 26th, 2008 4:57 am
