It was nice while it lasted, not having to worry about matching our gem-colors to enable our Plunderer’s Helm’s meta gem. But that vacation is over and we’re spending time on WoW Gem Finder trying to make good choices to balance our stats, keep our Hit Rating at the proper level, and keeping the correct number of gem-colors to make our meta-gem shine. Which meta-gem? The Relentless Earthsiege Diamond! /drool

Did we want an Agi/Sta gem? No, we didn’t. But since we didn’t want to blow gold all over the place and totally re-gem ourselves, we needed a purple gem to fit in a red socket while satisfying our need for one blue gem to keep the meta-gem happy. So we’re juggling cost, availability, and usefulness in an attempt to make everything work harmoniously; Agi/Sta is what we got.

And if we can get our Knights of the Ebon Blade reputation higher, we’ll get the better Arcanum of Torment soon.

    I’ve been running Utgarde Pinnacle, trying to get this helm but with no luck. And stop having fun and make us another podcast!

    Running Utgarde Pinnacle won’t get you this helm since it drops in Utgarde Keep heroic.

    Isn’t there a prismatic now with +6 all stats? That would be helpful.

    Don’t forget there are three Ebon Blade dailies over on Death’s Rise for a total of six. Lot of people forget about those three.

    I would prob suggest slapping an Enchanted Tear in there (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=42702). Not only will it give you better benefit than the Shifting Shadow Crystal (3 less stam, but you would gain 6 int), but it would also allow you to socket the rest of your gear as you see fit, since that one gem would completely satisfy the meta requirement. And you can pick up the Siren’s Tear from the murloc dudes in Borean Tundra for 60 clam shells, which are easily obtained.
