Dear BRK … I started my hunt once again by patrolling around Sholazar Basin like normal after work routine. Did this for 5 hours 30 minutes and nothing. I was tired and decided to go sleep and wake up at night to do night patrol since there are less chance to have rivals out in the jungle.
Alarm [woke] me up exactly 01:00am. I hopped on my trusty Gryphon and began the patrol…it [was a] cold night full of promises. My seek finally paid off at 07:00am, but what did i see…a rare Devilsaur King Krush.
I slayed the poor beast since my target were little different breed, but this gave me knowledge and all know that knowledge is power. Next rare spawn could be after 3-8 hours (unconfirmed about spawn times). I went to sleep and again set alarm accordingly to the time estimation. Online and still nothing…friend came to visit in RL and I had to go offline. After 1 hour chattering he left and I [thought] “maybe I look 1 more time” for the beauty and then head to do other daily chores.
Logged on my hunter at Nesingwary base camp and send my “general chat macro” out there which I had used for 1 day. What did my ears hear ? a whisper from death knight Darkabyss…i [thought] “it can be joke like other people whisper me normally, but I wont let info go waste even if it might be joke”.
How wrong I [was]. The spirit beast [was] exactly there where the friendly death knight whispered me…

Enough words! I must not waste this moment! …trap…there…arcane shot + concussive shot…done! Tame!…come on…please…don’t let other people come now…success!!!
I had already [though of a ] name for her in advance…my dear “Desada”
I couldn’t believe it, I finally had her. After 3 weeks of [hunting it] was finally over…all the failures and time lost gave something beyond my wildest dreams in return.
After gasping few times, yelling out loud in my home (I think my neighbor was about to call police )…
My hands shaking started to settle…where was the DK that helped me ? How i could return the favor…?
He: ” I couldn’t accept anything for such thing ”
Me: ” You really sure you don’t want [anything]? ”
He: ” Im fine, congratulations ^_^ “
I couldn’t give him anything material, but i could give him info about secrets I know around Northrend. I hope he found them useful I had found around on my journeys *smiles*.
There you have [it] people, even in this world where you might pop onto ninjas, gankers and such, there are still good left out there waiting to find you.

P.S For all other hunters out there, don’t give up hope on taming her!

Still on the hunt.. I just gotten up after 5h search last night seen king crush but no joy.. others killing him… a group of hunters had every spawn point covered, and my hart aches.
just respec survival because thats the only useful hunter spec upcoming as it bm sorta sucks when that kitty dies.
Grats, I know the heart pounding feeling of making this tame

Thats why a BM hunter never lets his pet die. And why as a BM hunter we have those extra talent points to spend on keeping that pet alive/bringing it back from the dead if the worst should happen.

When I can start the hunt, I plan on making Loq a permanent part of my pack.
Day 8 of what is seemingly my never-ending hunt for this beast.
Ive heard about 5 reports in my encounter (via general chat) about the time/location of the beasts kills (3 times) and tames (2 times)…soon it will be mine..
/salute to Darkabyss. It’s people like him (her?) that really make playing a MMO special.
I was going to roll a level 1 to send an in game thanks but it appears that Darkabyss and Thelgrim are on an EU server (Argent Dawn if I’m correct). I think it would be great if anyone who is able could send Darkabyss a quick in game thanks on behalf of hunters everywhere.
I’m still hunting myself, haven’t seen ANY of the rare mobs, not even a corpse. Maybe Durotan is cursed….
Ive seen the corpse once, and lots of 8 year olds trying to taunt me with , “Lol I just killed ur kitty”
I ignore them, and try when I can. Sooner or later, I’ll get him.
Got mine 2 days ago…one last check before going to bed, at the northern most spawn point. Didn’t think twice about abandoning Devilsaur I spent the last 3 days leveling to 80 for raiding…
I couldnt believe it….3 weeks of searching, 3 times got a chance to tame Loque’nahak, all 3 times the tame was stopped and beastie killed by opposite faction player
so sad really….those peeps that do that, get a life….anyways, this morning was finishing up with an oracle daily, ‘a cleansing song’ got to tame that new hydra…can see Blizz nerfing that and the slime. decided to do another newr karnak area, and was heading back to nesingwary’s…..not even looking, and wham…..LOQUE right below me!!! dropped off flyer, tagged with arcane shot and dropped freezing trap, now proud owner of new spirit beast pet

Well, pet is nice etc.
But if you raid you dont really want him – since “readiness” is way better than “beast mastery”. Even after new patch (it wont remove beastialwrath cd) it is still a win.
So for all raiders, 50/21 is superior to 51/20 imho
Still, having one in stable and respecing ocasionally to 51bm to run around with him is not a bad idea
But if you raid – leave it in stable and respec.
Congrats on your spirit beast! There is a wonderful hunter on my server: Frostmane – alliance side and I thin kher name is Kethryl? She has seen Beast spawn 3x at 66,78 and has her own. She helped me yesterday with camping so I could skip that loc and run my circuit to the other spawn locs… Still no luck..
ONE DAY!!!
FINALLY….
After making untold circuits around the basin, night after night she is MINE! I found her @ 22,70, right about the time I guesstimated after seeing another rare pop at about 10:00 pm server time. I figured a 23 hour timer, based on what I’ve read, so 8:00 pm I was hitting the spawn points and searching. Lo and behold I see this wonderful beast pacing about with no one in the area. I was a nervous wreck….other cats wer around so it wasn’t easy to get her without aggroing others, but I was finally able to drop a freezing arrow on her and start taming. The trap wore off just as I made her mine….It’s a guild first, and I’m one VERY happy hunter….
