@ Klinderas
i know this is way late :D

but i trained pets out in ymirhiem in icecrown, the respawn rates were pretty good on the guys and they all die pretty easy, it does take a while i put on some family guy and went to town for a few hours, every 22 enemy's was one bar (individual bar not total bar) of xp for him so it took a few hours but wasnt to bad, the bones picked up also turn in for some items you can use out there, (saveing those atm for possible use in the icecrown raid) and they also give a very small amount of rep.

That wasp is banned from our raids. Far too huge and in the way.
Then ensure that a Druid exists to provide Faerie Fire, because that's why Ayamiss comes to Naxxramas with me.

Frankly, my guildmates love her. Ya'll need to get your panties out of a bunch, IMO.

I agree that it’s a pain, but it’s one way to practice your kiting.

I had a Rhok'delar pre-BC and was able to solo Drakkisath from 100% to about 89% back when people decided "hey, kiting Drakkisath is the best way to down him!". My kiting skills haven't faded much since then. :)

And none of my tradeskills require killing things, and if they do, I'm going to have Kongsecrate with me.

OK, I never intended to imply that pet leveling was 'easy' or fun. Just that they've made it much easier and less tedious than it WAS. If you don't have time to level a bunch of pets, do some research first, figure out what pets are most likely to suit your style ahead of time. Or find a pet that's already level 80 (or at least closer to it). Sure locks don't have to level their 'pets' but they also don't get anything like the variety and customization for pets that hunters get.

Perhaps pets should get xp from quest rewards. I could see them putting that in, but I doubt they will ever start having pets be instantly advanced to your level and I'm not sure that I would agree that they should.

@ Pike
44 Boar? HA! I see your 44 boar and raise you a Lvl 18 raptor from Wailing Caverns! Had to keep him about 30 feet back from the group though +_+

@ Silgon

I agree that it's a pain, but it's one way to practice your kiting. Plus, if you're grinding someplace with a large amount of crafting mat drops, it can be profitable. I leveled my wolf Link by farming the wretched on the Isle of Quel'Danas before the patch came out. I also made a decent amount of money. =D

I think my hunter has a tiny advantage as far as pet leveling, due to his being a leatherworker. Pet needs leveled? Mobs in Sholazar are around 75-76, and I know my pets can tank up to +3 their level quite nicely. And everything there is skinnable. Problem solved?

I am leveling my kitty with my hunter, I don't use another pet til she levels, then get her out again once Boogga gets another level. It's working fine so far, but it means I'll have 4 pets to get from 75-76 to 80 when he reaches 80.
