Things We’ve Had to Say

speakingThat is not phat loot; that is a bunneh.

That wolf is more than just pretty. How about you attack mobs with it?

What do you mean, ‘she’s a suicidal warlock’? Oh. Seed of Corruption next to CC’d mobs. Now we understand.

We don’t know if you were a good resto druid, but you’re a great tank. Burn that healing gear; don’t let them tell you to switch specs.

That’s it! It’s two-piece Tier 5 time!

Four boxes of Mammoth Cutters? For us? You’re lucky we’re married, you smexy thing, you.

If *we* were a level-one hunter, we sure as heck wouldn’t be hanging around the Dalaran airport begging for gold, dude.

Take it for your repair bill, {insert name of resto druid here}.

The only reason your DPS is so good is we gave you that eight-piece set of SwiftArrow craftable LW gear. We don’t *care* that you’re playing your priest now; that’s irrelevant.

Dismiss your pet, that should make the wyrm-riding quest quit bugging out. You’re a warrior? You sure? Maybe you’re really a hunter, and that’s why you suck?

Why do the Forsaken always try to ninja our leather? Everyone else walks up and waits to see if we’re going to skin the huge pile of carcasses, but Forsaken just run in and try to out-skin us. Just because you have no skin doesn’t mean you have to be rude.

No Growl isn’t on, and just so you know Cower *is* on. Spirit Beast is indeed a mean SOB, but he shouldn’t be grabbing aggro from the tank.

There is nothing fear-inspiring about the name BunBun.

We’re doin’ Oracles dailies; of course we’re bored.

Skinning is an addiction and we’ve never claimed otherwise.

The leatherworking shop in Dalaran is basically the slum of the city. What a dump. Even the place that sells bandages looks nicer. Our best salesperson stands on the street, for cryin’ out loud.

If the Dwarves ran Dalaran there’d be karaoke and more beer, that’s all we’re sayin’.

No carrots for a month, now every day its carrots.

People kvetch about the torture-quest, yet have no problem committing atrocities like killing 50 dog-people for thirteen gold. Where’s the Prime Directive when we need it?

Putting Mammoth Cutters in your character’s ammo-slot means sh!t is about to hit the fan. It may be a boss’s or it may be ours, but that fan is about to get filthy.

We have tons of +80 Attack Power food. When you drop that Feast that grants us +60 Attack Power, and we politely decine your food in favor of ours, that does not mean we don’t like your cooking. Don’t get all huffy.

Don’t *cry*! Why are you crying! OK! We’ll eat your Feast, just stop crying. It’s delicious, yes, thank you.

No, we didn’t eat one of our +80 Attack Power meals after we ate your Feast. We don’t know how the tooltip on our buffs changed from +60 to +80. Don’t *cry*! This isn’t funny! No we’re not going to eat your Feast again! STOP CRYING RIGHT NOW!

As far as I’m concerned, Mammoth Cutters are standard issue. Then again, I’m an engineer and have a mining pally.

  2. Tchann on December 23rd, 2008 11:15 am

I keep expecting tanks to yell at me to turn off Growl in instances. I watch Mijikai’s threat creep up higher and higher and get ready to explain that it *is* off, Cower *is* on, and that the tank just *sucks*.

“There is nothing fear-inspiring about the name BunBun.”

If that name doesn’t inspire fear in your heart, you’re obviously not reading Sluggy Freelance at sluggy.com.

  4. Homegrownstrawberries on December 23rd, 2008 11:41 am

I have to agree with Brian on this one. BunBun is truly terrifying.

And while Sluggy is very worth the read it is a consuming story so if you start you should probably clear you schedule first as you have about 10 year of story to read and will probably miss work and raid to do it. (its a very good read)

damm i had forgotten all about sluggy, now i have some catching up to do :S, atleast it’s maintenance tuesday XD

Hahahahaha, I’m not sure why but people do get prissy when you opt for your own better buffed foods. See we’re a cook too, we appreciate the amount of ingredient that makes a Feast, it’s just not for us.

SO there with you on the Mammoth Cutters. Wiped on Heroic Ichoron last night because of the enrage, brain said “screw this, you’re going down” 1 set of Mammoth Cutters later (and some Volleys). Bye bye Ichoron.

Horde pelt-vultures are a nuisance… I need to meet some friendly horde hunters who can MD something nasty onto them when they get up in my grill.

Hahaha! So there with you on the Forsaken Leather-Ninjas.

    Engineers are good for something!

Dismiss your pet, that should make the wyrm-riding quest quit bugging out.

    That quest is buggy.

No Growl isn’t on, and just so you know Cower *is* on. Spirit Beast is indeed a mean SOB, but he shouldn’t be grabbing aggro from the tank.

There are at least two bugs I know of that cause pets to generate huge amounts of extra threat for no good reason. Or your tank is bad.

When you drop that Feast that grants us +60 Attack Power, and we politely decine your food in favor of ours, that does not mean we don’t like your cooking.

Mammoth cutters are dirt cheap. I use them all the time. At least, until Blizz fixes teh ammo and provides more powerful ones :)

Buh? At SWC prices, it’s about 45g-60g a box.

I have been trading Leather for and Mammoth Cutters. One guild mate I sent a pair of Arctic Furs (’cuz that’s how we roll) and he generously send me a few boxes of Mammoth Cutters. Karma rocks!

I have a few Engineering buddies that will keep me stocked when needed. I’m sure there may be a time I need ammo for an instance/raid and have to bit the bullet (no play on words intended) and buy mats at the AH.

Make friends with engineers and treat ‘em nice. If you skin or any other gathering profession, trade ‘em something. See if they want fish. :-) I also made a few leather items for a fellow hunter who’s an engineer while leveling up, and he sends me nice scopes and stuff as needed. I’m REALLY hoping I get my Nessy 4k cheap when I hit 80. I think I’ll have to pay a bit for that one still no matter what, but I’m ok with that. :-)

Mammoth Cutter arrows take 15 Sauronite bars per box. S. bars are selling for 7g each on my server, so expect price to go up when eng. are not getting lvl points anymore.

  21. Hanhar on December 23rd, 2008 2:52 pm

freaking great, the person in the cube next to me told me to stop laughing

  22. Rilgon Arcsinh on December 23rd, 2008 3:02 pm

No, Mammoth Cutters take 6 bars of Saronite and 6 bars of Cobalt (plus 2 Crystallized Water) per box. Saronite Arrows take 15 bars of Saronite per box.

Sauronite? Do the bars have little eyes on them that watch you?

  23. Matt on December 23rd, 2008 3:10 pm

    Speak on it, TJ.
I’ve been searching for the truth and you have provided.

  24. Artorin on December 23rd, 2008 3:49 pm

Actually the ammo boxes only give points for like… 2 levels people make them because while minning for tintanium to make guns you end up with a crap ton of saronite and what else are you going to do with it? Make more army knives? /gag

The whole food thing made me laugh because I will put out a feast for the raid… and then eat my 40 crit food :P

  25. yunk on December 23rd, 2008 4:15 pm

hah it’s always night elves that try to skin on me, so when they get close I just don’t loot, it drives them crazy.
I guess they are just trying to clean up the environment or something.

  26. Spencer on December 23rd, 2008 4:51 pm

The feast jokes are too funny. My first toon was an undead rogue, I was all over skinning everything. Was on my dwarf hunter killing rhinos to get meat for me and my wifes mains and was sad that noone was skinning my kills, I farmed 24 rhino meat, which left about 100 corpses. it makes me sad when it goes to waste, I would hope somebody gets a use out of it. Just like when I farmed meat for the netherdrake daily.

Anyone else thinks Spirit Bond should be the 2pc t5 bonus? It’d make the talent… useful, for a change.

Oh and having R(L)hok’Delar should be a feat of strength.

  28. Tequilafly on December 23rd, 2008 6:01 pm

I remember reading BRK thoughts about swaping out Mammoth Cutters for boss fights and using other bullets for trash. Does anyone have a macro that can swap out bullets? Basically, slap on Cutters before boss fights, then swap out for regular bullets for trash mobs. All in one button

    :)

  29. Shianti on December 23rd, 2008 7:14 pm

Actually, he wasn’t making a joke about at least some of the things he says he said…for example, he really did tell me to take the drops for my repair bill…cause I died about 50 times in heroic UP. It was not pretty, bark and wood chips littered the floor everywhere…

  31. Anotherclown on December 23rd, 2008 8:46 pm

@Spencer: Being a skinner myself I get the same feeling when I come across a corpse that hasn’t been looted fully, perfectly good leather going to waste /sigh

  32. Hunty on December 23rd, 2008 10:21 pm

I love the part about the feast! It is so true…. /sigh

  34. MA on December 24th, 2008 2:07 pm

The “Giant Ring Belt” has exactly the same stats as “Waistband of the Thuzadin” – The Waistband drops in Normal Culling of Strathholme, from Salramm the Fleshcrafter.

So you can rep grind to honored with Hodir for the belt or run strath for the drop.

    Happy Hunting. :)

  35. Shagrat on December 24th, 2008 2:55 pm

Unlooted, skinnable mobs make this skinner cry. All that leather, wasted. Not to mention the chance for arctic furs. (My luck has been suckish with those lately)
