Why The Posts Are Suddenly Slow

legoOur manufacturer is out of Gorilladin 3XL long sleeve shirts. We are pleasantly throwing a tantrum to get the situation rectified.

Trying to raid 10-man Naxx – no tanks.

Trying to make our bank accept the charge from our shirt-manufacturer. Required calling the people and demanding they let the charge go through. We’ve bought from them before!

Trying to raid 10-man Naxx – off-tank is sick.

The biggest thing in the history of BigRedKitty has been green-lighted. Green-lit? Whatever, it’s a Go. It required email and phone interviews and a conference-call with “The Board”, but we’re full-steam ahead. BigRedKitty Worldwide Amalgamated is about to expand, and we’re sure we won’t be convicted of insider-trading if we tell you to place your orders for BRKWWA stock now.

Trying to raid 10-man Naxx – no healers.

Where the {bleep} is TJ? Girl gets a boyfriend and she just ignores the rest of the Internet? /harumph

Trying to raid 10-man Naxx – no casters, three Death Knights.

We have achieved our goal of 20,000 gold again. We have successfully avoided buying the Dalaran-ring, the two rings in the Auction House, the Sons of Hodir mammoths, and replacing all our bank-bags with 22-slotters. Skinners’ Paradise FTW.

Trying to raid 10-man Naxx – three shaman and Heroism is nerfed.

Wii tennis. Four lego sets. A construction set so complex the instructions are in cuneiform. Mrs BRK’s new book light that has the luminosity of a pulsar.

Trying to raid 10-man Naxx – hunter arrives with a level 75 pet.

The garbage pickup schedule was changed and we missed the new day. The avalanche of cardboard in the garage is demanding its own zip code.

Trying to raid 10-man Naxx – get invite to 25-man Naxx and brain almost explodes trying to come up with excuse for avoiding 10-man Naxx. Fails completely, we don’t go to 25-man Naxx, so of course 10-man Naxx cancels ten minutes later.

The person who runs the snack bar at work is on vacation. There is no cafeteria. There is no food within walking distance. That pack of five year old tuna is starting to look really good…

Trying to raid 10-man Naxx – our priest is in greenies. We think he dinged 80 on the flight to Dragonblight.

The algae bloom, which has been resisting our chemical attack for over a month, is finally succumbing. Our pool is blue again!

Trying to raid 10-man Naxx – one of our three main tanks quits WoW.

Writing our 2008-close out piece for WoW Insider is done, except the WoWHead links. And picture. We need to keep up the theme of teasing Ghostcrawler, as we find it fascinating that people get upset when we do it.

Trying to raid 10-man Naxx – wanting to ask why our Shadow Priest isn’t regen’ing any mana for us, and deciding we’re sick of waiting for others to help with our mana-situation. It’s respec-time.

Our spittle-shrieks resulted in our manufacturer “finding” more shirts. /nods

20,000 gold? After buying the Traveler’s Tundra Mammoth at full price? How? It can’t all be skinning can it?

  2. Alco on December 30th, 2008 4:52 pm

I personally haven’t been selling leather yet, saving it for a rainy day????, but I bet it is going for good money, lol
And the 80 priest with greenies? been there, didnt’t done that, you kinda need a little good gear, come on people, lol

  3. WB on December 30th, 2008 4:54 pm

    @Yari

Count the number of groups he’s leveled to exalted.

Consider that he’s doing ORACLE quests! Which means nearly 25 dailies every day.

Consider that he completed nearly all the Icecrown quests, which give pure gold at lvl 80, which means he’s done almost all the quests.

And then of course farming and some craftables.

Yeah, 20k is reachable. The mammoth and gun were purchased with pre-Wrath gold.

  4. WB on December 30th, 2008 4:56 pm

@Alco – I’d sell the leather. It actually has a legitimate use of making solid pre-heroic pre-raiding craftable gear and buying recipes. As people gear up in 5-mans and Naxx, the demand for those mats is going to drop.

  5. Krakien-Dunemaul on December 30th, 2008 5:04 pm

Hope things get better for ya :D sounds like its been frustrating

  6. Grim on December 30th, 2008 5:12 pm

So, did you actually get to do Naxx any of these times? Was three DK’s a “didnt go”, or a “went, but oh god, teh horror!”? Curious now!

  7. Fahr & Bacon on December 30th, 2008 5:14 pm

    WTB BRKWWA Stock. ;-)

  8. Chris Anthony on December 30th, 2008 5:34 pm

    Grim,

We hit Naxx 10 last night. We got to 4% on Anub’whatever, downed Noth, and got to 25% on Patchwerk (partly because our healers were running low on mana unexpectedly quickly and partly because our main tank was inexplicably also getting the Hateful Strikes). The MT called the raid at 11 because we were getting tired and frustrated.

  9. Rilgon Arcsinh on December 30th, 2008 5:41 pm

We have successfully avoided buying the Dalaran-ring

Why? Until you get Surge-Needle Ring and Sealing Ring of Grobbulus, it’s fantastic. o_O; Plus, there’s something to be said for two hearths.

  10. Donoman on December 30th, 2008 6:22 pm

What is this skinners’ paradise? I’ve heard you mention it before, but you’ve never said where it was.

  11. Papaoomowmow on December 30th, 2008 6:24 pm

The algae bloom, which has been resisting our chemical attack for over a month, is finally succumbing. Our pool is blue again!

Sounds like Hydrilla….or some other Horatio Algae story

    ; – )

  12. kunukia on December 30th, 2008 6:59 pm

@Donoman I like to skin the Icemane Yeti in Storm Peaks, they drop silver instead of grey garbage, so your bags don’t fill up so fast, and they are skinnable. Sounds pretty much like a skinners paradise to me!

  13. Phyllixia on December 30th, 2008 7:59 pm

/agree with Rilgon Arcsinh. Double hearth FTW – Ring before Mammoth :)

  14. BRK on December 30th, 2008 8:14 pm

What is this skinners’ paradise? I’ve heard you mention it before, but you’ve never said where it was.

    We haven’t?

  15. Zraeus on December 30th, 2008 8:26 pm

Sorry to hear your Naxx raids haven’t worked out. But on the plus side: SPIRIT BEAST!

  16. Hulrok on December 30th, 2008 8:38 pm

I understand about the frustration of Naxx 10. My wife keeps getting me to hop on and try and get in, but by the time I sign on, they’re already in Naxx, doing first pulls. >.<

Also, the OOM issues are a pain. We still have yet to encounter a mana battery worth their . . . mana . . . Anyway, I had to respec a bit, myself, and the new spec is SO much more mana efficient. And the damage hasn’t been nerfed any at all! How did I come up with that?!

    ~Hul

  17. Hulrok on December 30th, 2008 8:39 pm

. . . you’re a bad influence BRK. I just used “we” completely inadvertantly. The revolution has begun.

  18. Mazil on December 30th, 2008 8:46 pm

    Spec respec! What spec?!

    *flails in anticipation*

  19. Anonymous on December 30th, 2008 9:16 pm

Teasing GC, eh? How’s a picture of a crab holding a bat? Or crab legs. Either works.

  20. Vronak on December 30th, 2008 9:22 pm

TJ is missing. Her blog is even offline! last we heard, she’d burned herself! Her boyfriend was coming into town to meet her family, maybe it didn’t go well…

Find her BRK, you’re our only hope!

  21. Doom on December 30th, 2008 10:08 pm

the respec most likely involved putting those last 3 points back into efficiency. or perhaps invigoration, which really is pretty friggin awesome.

  22. Cynddl on December 30th, 2008 10:16 pm

    Skinner’s Paradise = Miner’s Paradise = Herbalist’s Paradise = Sholazar Basin.

  23. Kro on December 31st, 2008 1:10 am

    @Cynddl

    Sholazar isn’t really a miner’s paradise…

There’s too many of us, and not enough to go around.

  24. bovinehunter on December 31st, 2008 1:56 am

Ohno! dont respect BRK then how can you be bigred kitty without a big red kitty? plus, you will have to give ups spirit beast D:

  25. Sade on December 31st, 2008 3:12 am

    @bovinehunter

Efficiency. Invigoration. Maybe read a little more thoroughly next time?

  26. AngelofMercy85 on December 31st, 2008 8:13 am

BRK never got a reply from a email I sent you about your business card. Wondering why, anyway I hope your nax woes eventually disappear. I have a friend who has had similar problems. Missing or under geared tanks and actually not enough dps for the abom wing. Hope your luck improves.

  27. Ionfreeze on December 31st, 2008 8:58 am

I can relate to the Naxx raids. There have been times I have banged my face on my desk over it! Thanks for the update on the t-shirts, I cant wait to get mine. And I will be a buyer of BRK stock!

Good news! My doctor says my nose will heal back to normal… almost. lol

  28. mudge on December 31st, 2008 9:24 am

2nd try to beat the stupid anti-spam filter: My ’skinners paradise’ is in Zul Drak where the Scions of Quetz’Lun drop an average of 2 Borean leathers per kill. This is also a great place to level a pet since these fellos are lvl 76-77 and pet EP accumulates rapidly

  29. Donoman & Ancalagon on December 31st, 2008 10:46 am

    We haven’t?

No, I check daily, hoping you will, because I want to know about this place, but the most I’ve heard is some guy leaving a comment about an island in Borean Tundra or somesuch

  30. Redhunt/Uthell on December 31st, 2008 10:58 am

I know what you mean im still trying to run Naxx 10 on my pally so if you ever need a ret pally for naxx just wisper Uthell =P

  31. Kliu on December 31st, 2008 11:27 am

Well your guild has a shot at least.

Right now my guild can’t even really do OS, mostly because we lack a lot of 80s. Plus those that are 80 just dinged.

I thought you guys where going to hold off until Jan 15th for the holidays? Sounds like why your getting a lot of the headaches is people haven’t been leveling and gearing during them. Just a thought. :)

  32. Ximcara on December 31st, 2008 11:48 am

Dont tell the location of skinners paradise part of the reasons its a paradise is that its secret. If everyone knows where it is it will get to crowded and will no longer be a paradise.

  33. Haarits on December 31st, 2008 12:26 pm

Everyone knew Nagrand was a skinner’s paradise, that didn’t stop it from being profitable for tons of skinners! Especially just before WOTLK, when full stacks of Heavy Knothide and Thick Clefthoof were often selling for 100g+ as alts were leveled and professions maxed out.

If the “Skinner’s Paradise” isn’t merely Sholazar Basin, but is something like the mythical “Paradis Island” vaguely mentioned in the “LolShot?” comments, it’d be nice to pinpoint it a little better.

  34. Alpacaa on December 31st, 2008 11:01 pm

FYI the ’skinner’s paradise’ is following guildies around in Sholazar Basin and skinning their kills.

  35. ekh on January 1st, 2009 3:33 pm

Like someone already mentioned, the Yetis in Storm Peaks are pretty damn nice to farm: they respawn very quickly and they drop silver, frostweave cloth and are skinnable. Also mammoths in the area to farm some chunks of their meat to make treats for yer pet! Sholazar Basin is, of course, also a paradise for a skinner.

  36. Crofe on January 1st, 2009 7:32 pm

I remember my first 10-man Naxx. . .I very nearly dinged 80 on the flight to Dragonblight. When we downed the first boss and I got the Heroism badge achievement someone said “That’s awesome.” over vent. Did I mention I was the OT? :)

(We cleared spider and 2/4 of Abomination wing, I may have been new, but I had the gear for it)
