Apparently some cats are getting a grooming. Here’s a pic of a new cat-skin we’re running into frequently on the PTR. Black is pretty bad@ss, isn’t it!

Is that a cat or a spirit-beast? Whatever it is, I’m clearing a stable slot now.
I bet it’s a cat like the one that BRK showed in the cat movie.
It looks to me like a Cursed Spawn Of Har’koa from Zul’Drak. I’m not a fan of Cats but d@mn!

I’m thinkin it’s a Cursed Spawn Of Har’koa like stated above, they must be trying some kind of new display thing. My swift palimino’s armor has the same black-shiney look to it now! Looks awesome though xD

The Ptr is having trouble showing certain colors, many other pets/mounts have that same “black” look
I noticed this happening to a few different skins. The graphics are just wierd on them. I saw a near black crab with a reddish sheen to him earlier, but it was a regular crab said the owner.
Wow. That is really impressive.

Yeah I logged onto the PTR with a cursed offspring as my pet. I thought it had changed all of my video settings or something and wanted to know why my pet didn’t look that good on live. Now I see it wasn’t just me the skin did change.

I’m not sure that’s the final look of the new skin. There are a lot of graphic bugs in the current build. See mage T7 shoulders and Epic Human racial horse mounts. The artifacts on the Epic Horse model look very similar to that cat.

That isn’t a new mob skin. The Player Textures option (which adds high reoultion textures) Blizzard added is screwing up many textures making them darker than they should be. It is a bug.
The skin looks a little like Blackmaw. The pet of Andurg Slatechest, the Stable Master at Bouldercrag’s Refuge in the Storm Peaks. I’ve only seen screenshots of it but it seems similar.
This cat model is one of the worst in the game, in my opinion. There are some bad proportions between head, neck and shoulders. It looks wrong in some way. Old Zeroth cats are much better. Spirit Beasts overall are the best.
IMO, this is the the best of the ‘bugged’ graphics that I’ve encountered. I wouldn’t mind this cat having this look on live; the laser-eyes were cool, but this is better. I hate the way the bug looks on all my armored horses.

I’ve wanted this cat for a while but just can’t figure out who to sacrifice… I don’t want to give up my pride watcher… Love my silithid… Hyrdadile is going to rock soon!!! And LSD wasp sounds like the calming sprinkle of a waterfall, IMHO.

certain crabs also have become shiny
If you look at the cursed offspring on live, they actually do have a very slight shiny sheen to them–I’m gonna agree with those who mentioned the new shiny mount armor and such, it’s probably an unintended side effect up updating those textures.
that is a new skin, if it wasnt some psots would still show the origanil color, i.e. the belly or face. Also the gleam of light on it wouldnt be there.
Doesn’t do it for me. Shape looks like most other cats. Red eyes – whiptee shit. Its black coat looks like a cheap paint job. Cats are about done in WoW. Next please…

The cursed offspring of Har’koa’s model is called tigergemskinblackspotted.
All gemskin pets have that sheen to them. It’s readily obvious when the cat is stealthed. I’m hoping the new model is a keeper as I already have my cursed offspring (the cat, not my rl kids!) and I love the new look.
I’m pretty sure it’s a bug, just like many other textures are bugged on the PTR client. It looks much better than the live skin though.
It is a bug, but I hope blizz decides to keep it for this cat imo.
I don’t normally tame pets just for looks, but I would make an absolute exception in this case! And if it does the same sort of damage as my regular cat, then all the better!

I’m pretty disappointed. It’s no tthe spirit beast look but the other cat look, you know the one that can barely lift it’s head up. Don’t like it. I have Loq and skipping this black cat.
IF they had Loq in that skin then I’ll be keeping an eye out for it.
What level is that I nned to know
how is this pet tamed? olny pet with that look is a stable masters pet in storm peaks and its asleep.
My kitty named Shiny is double-shiny on the PTR with this bug.
I hope it stays…
For everyone asking, this is what the Cursed Spawns of Har’koa from Zul’Drak look like on the PTR at the moment. My kitty that I’ve had since early November looks like this on the PTR.
Well sorry to disapoint you but its not how it will actually look, its a bug for the metalic coat on the skin, its also bugged with mounts.
yeah its a cursed ofspring but it will not looke like that when 3.1 go live
