WTB Drunken Dwarves in background of BRK podcast, have mats, will tip, pst

  2. kunukia on March 23rd, 2009 1:08 pm

Excellent podcast. I also fully approve of drunken Dwarf revels.

  3. Kenlin on March 23rd, 2009 1:38 pm

Arcane Shot with a ten second cooldown?!? What did the PTR break now?

Also, bring back the the drinking dwarves.

  4. Teaakius on March 23rd, 2009 1:49 pm

Yep…he confused the CDs for Arcane/Explosive shots with the CDs for Aimed/Multi shots. No biggy, the truth to the statement is there…Arcane shot is required to MAXIMIZE the BM’s DPS “rotation”, but in itself isn’t the highest source of BM dps.

  5. Rikaku on March 23rd, 2009 2:15 pm

I too approve of the dwarven background.

Heheheh Gondria *does* have a terrible name. But you’re masochistic to get another one BRK?

  6. Mister EDgAr h on March 23rd, 2009 2:25 pm

    I needz drunken dwarven dudes!!!

That and since you talked about pet hit rating food does any1 knows of a list of food that is pet oriented with + values? I only know about Kibler’s bits and can’t find a guide to pet food..?

    Gracias!

  7. Karma on March 23rd, 2009 3:03 pm

Pass on the drunken dwarves, this was much better.
Pet food Kiblers bits, Sporeling Snacks and spiced mammoth treats, all available on Wowhead http://www.wowhead.com
Still the hate for Marksmanship spec.. such a shame.

  8. Mohkran on March 23rd, 2009 3:38 pm

I think BRK background effects should be updated to include the real party animals, ORCS! ./hammertime

  9. Josh on March 23rd, 2009 4:04 pm

BRK, I vote that you rename your podcast from “BRK Podcast” to “KittyKast”.

    You know you want to.

  10. Criyo on March 23rd, 2009 4:12 pm

    Greetings, BRK!

Love your blog, love your podcasts, love your columns on both WoWInsider & Projectlore: all of those made a road from huntard to hunter for me. Huge thanks!

    Now on to podcast feedback:
Drunken dwarves. From my last experience with GarageBand (that was oh-so-many months ago) you can tweak the volume of background track manually. Of course it takes much time and editing 30 minutes track is so boring, but: Without dwarves or spirit beasts or whatever on the background, even on my crappy iPod headphones there’re too much background noises. And this is the thing that in my opinion makes it even harder to concentrate on the precious knowledge you’re sharing with us all.

  11. Mackenzie on March 23rd, 2009 4:21 pm

Drunken Dwarves were win, bring ‘em back!

Some comments re: the SV tree changes (going off wowhead’s PTR talent calculator here):

    1. TNT boosts Explosive Shot damage as well as Black Arrow and Explosive Trap.
    2. Hunting Party had a 1% per point agi boost added into it. Even if the replenishment buff is redundant with other raid replenishers, this could be a worthwhile talent in 25-man raiding.
    3. Sniper Training had a massive chage, I’m surprised you glossed over that. (Must be all the cold medications) Given how much movement is required in many fights, it remains to be seen how useful this talent will be in raiding.

Thanks for an enjoyable blog and ‘cast, feel better, and keep up the good work!

  12. Ximcara on March 23rd, 2009 4:48 pm

I NEED the drunks I need them or I will explode, that happens sometimes…

  13. Celexxa on March 23rd, 2009 4:56 pm

While it’s lovely hearing your dulcet tones, I feel you are enhanced by your greek chorus. Bring back the dwarves!

  14. furrymammoth on March 23rd, 2009 4:59 pm

You said 53/18 is the best way to go but I’ve seen that for BM, I like 51/13/7. ( http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=ceb0zxgRVu0ekt0gVoZx00b )

  20. Joe on March 23rd, 2009 6:58 pm

Hey BRK : HUGE FAN!! I found your videos out of pure luck while researching how to become a better a hunter on the web and I have become a more knowledgeable hunter since then. So thank you for that. ONe question I did have was when often raiding people ask what my DPS is and im not sure what to tell them. I have recount but how do I give them an exact number for what I am doing? Or is it just in general how much dmg I do on a lvl 80 mob boss? Please help…

I favor introductionary and closing usage of our drinking dwarf friends. Usage of them throughout the podcast tends to get tedious and sort of reminds me of when you take a song you love and listen to it repetitiously to the point it nauseates you.

  23. Ærynn Lómëhtar on March 23rd, 2009 8:56 pm

I miss the dwarves… sounded more creepy without the white noise.

  24. Stupid Mage on March 23rd, 2009 8:56 pm

wtf, What happened to the Dwarves in the background?!

Did you get kicked out of IF again?

You better do what you can to get your silly ass back in there.

  25. Raven on March 23rd, 2009 9:06 pm

    Ok bring back my dwarves!

  26. zwingli on March 23rd, 2009 9:25 pm

I’m ok with or without the dwarves. It didn’t detract from the podcast in my opinion.

However, I did have a minor issue with this particular podcast. For the first time, I found moments in the podcast where I lost a word, maybe even two. Did anyone else experience this?

BRK, the title in the sidebar has been updated, but the actual podcast has not.

    Bring those dwarves back please

  30. Alphakhan on March 24th, 2009 8:10 am

    Bring back the dwarves!

Otherwise well done on another very informative and helpful podcast, BRK.

  31. Zaw on March 24th, 2009 9:22 am

Dwarves fine to start and finish – not while you are talking.

  32. The Nerd Wonder on March 24th, 2009 9:43 am

One thing about Piercing Shots that BRK may not have realized is that the rogue ability “Thirst For Blood” that many of our shadowy friends are using now will require that the target be bleeding in 3.1. Could this be an effort to get the rogues and hunters to make nice with each other?

  33. Shaun Nickerson on March 24th, 2009 11:36 am

We need the brewfest party going on! Without them BRK is just a loud mouthed shnok. With them he is a loud mouth shnok with drunk dwarves.

  34. scaresome on March 24th, 2009 11:49 am

(hands BRK a Kleenex) hope you feel better soon.

Ty for the podcast, can you speak of the additional pet talents next time?

    Peace.

  35. Supersym on March 24th, 2009 12:27 pm

Explosive shot to the face of the ppl that complained about the drunken dwarves.

    Bring’em back plzzzzzz. :D

  36. The Brew Hall on March 24th, 2009 1:12 pm

Nice podcast. Excellent summary of the 3.1 changes. As far as the drunken dwarves are concerned, I think you can guess where we stand (or stumble).

  37. Torgall on March 24th, 2009 1:32 pm

Even though every dwarf hunter I’ve met on my server seems to be a pretentious snob, please bring them back! They add ‘atmosphere’ to the show…

“Hey kids, gather around the fire pit, ignore your drunk uncles because Uncle BRK is about to drop some knowledge on ya!”

Funny I picture this taking place in The Filthy Animal though instead of whatever the Alliance Inn is (Heroe’s Welcome or some such nonsense I think?)!

    ;)

  38. Corwyn on March 24th, 2009 1:42 pm

It was my understanding the the homogenization of all pets to 5%/5%/5% was a nerf not a buff. Ferocity pets for example, are I think 5%/5%/10% in live.

    Thank You Kindly.

p.s. If the dwarves are causing problems for a significant number of people, lose them. They aren’t adding much, but if they cause people not to be able to listen to the podcast, that is a large downside. Please no tyranny of the majority.

  39. Mizkabella on March 24th, 2009 1:45 pm

Second the WTB Drunken Dwarves in background of BRK podcast, have mats, will tip

  40. Phourc on March 24th, 2009 2:27 pm

I liked the dwarves and never had any problems hearing you over them. Bring ‘em back!

As for the +5%/+5%/+5%, I was under the impression that replaced the current ferocity pet’s 10/5/0 and tenacity’s 0/5/10. From the patch notes: “This should make more pet families feel viable, while additional talents have been added to distinguish a pet’s abilities based on its specializations.”

And you totally missed the best change of 3.1: “All Ground Mounts may now swim without dismounting the rider. Flying Mounts still may NOT, and will dismount the rider upon entering water.”

    No more dissolving mounts!

  41. Bule on March 24th, 2009 3:29 pm

Whoa, many things said arent true…for one the talent Resourcefulness helps lower the CD on traps and since LnL doesnt have a CD the 6sec helps lower it to a 24sec CD lasting 15/24sec.
Also Viper sting live is VERY useful…and in PvP its amazing with talents. 20% drain on a caster is good, only reason they changed it because of priest not being able to dispel it so that is a sign that is was useful.

  42. TonyBone on March 24th, 2009 3:45 pm

The drunken dwarves added character to the podcast and I never found them distracting. Quite the contrary – I found them engaging. It keeps it lighthearted and fun — the true spirit of BRK. I’ll bring the ale if need me. More drunken dwarve debauchery.

    /ponykeg

  43. Nymphxie on March 24th, 2009 5:36 pm

    You’ve forced me to post…

    1. How can you kill the drunken dwarves? They are the atmosphere and image of BRK in my opinion, and I LOVE the pub-like atmosphere they give (gave…) the podcast… If they drank all the beer, I’ll buy them more with my own gold, just bring em back plz…

    2. I know this has been going back and forth, appearing on some posts and not on others, but sometimes TNT shows explosive shot to refresh immolation trap. This is HUGE, since it will give LnL a method of 100% upkeep time (constant imm trap), as well as allowing for an interesting spec strategy focused around that (trap master +30% dmg + imm trap glyph +100% dmg +TNT for neverending fire…. /drool). Of course, if it doesn’t go live… moot.

    3. This is more of a speculation, but if careful aim does indeed give the hit to pets as well, then it might be interesting how valuable that talent becomes as far as min/maxing is concerned, since each point is worth a substantial amount of hit, a valuable heavy stat which often determines which gear I’m wearing (ie- taking talent and wearing more agi heavy gear with less hit rating).

Overall, I’m looking forward to 3.1, and missing the dwarves. Nice podcats, hope to hear more from ya soon.

    wtb dwarf background noise. kthx

  46. Urdik, EU Khadgar on March 25th, 2009 6:27 am

the Drunken Dwarfs must be back!

  47. Brownyboi on March 25th, 2009 8:39 am

I vote that the dwarves be allowed back in the podcast – it’s not like they caused any trouble or hurt anyone, right?

Okay, they didn’t cause too much trouble and they didn’t hurt that many people.

Alright, so they caused quite a lot of trouble and the less said about the Noodle Incident, the better – still, could be worse – could be orcs.

Next time I’m passing through IF, I’ll stop and buy them a round or two.

  48. Torgall on March 25th, 2009 9:41 am

    @ Brownyboi…

Your reply made me lol. Reminded me of Statler and Waldorf! :)

  49. ambell on March 25th, 2009 12:51 pm

i liked the drunk dwarves(and i think there was a drunk goblin in there too) it kind of leaves your podcast a bit dry without the dwarves; they made it fun.

  50. Gorgor on March 25th, 2009 4:03 pm

The dwarves were too loud, I’d say bring them back but drop the volume.

Survivalists also want serpent sting up for Noxious Stings, 3% damage increase to everything the hunter does. Our own Ferocious Inspiration!

  51. Tibia on March 26th, 2009 3:00 am

Great podcat as always. Could you do a longer podcast or more often please? There are so things left to be explained/discussed, e. g. new pet talents.

Much better without the dwarves. I want to listen to BRK and not them.

  52. Atoo shadowpriest on March 26th, 2009 6:33 pm

We want more drawves in the podcast xD
