So this whale shark is waaaaaaay out there. And every once in a while, one can see it’s name rumble through the distance.

Good thing we don’t Fish, right?

    Hostile? Whale sharks aren’t hostile!

^ my first reaction exactly. Then again, it could mistake a gnaked gnome race for a school of krill…

Looks like it’s time to organize a raid, and see just how many idiots it takes to kill an internet whale shark.

This bad chicken probablty eats you if you try to get to GM island in Cata…

PS: “Lady La-La” ? Dear god I can’t escape her!!!!

It’s actually not hostile unless you aggro it which apparently is easy to do because their hit box is the size of England. ;-p

There’s some hilarious video of one that was pathing through a quest area: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HFnd5omrMI&videos=UJGmObeasjg

“It’s on me Simon, it’s still on me!”
“You’re screwed, accept it. Take your death honorably”

    XD

They are a boundary creature mostly so maybe they are hostile if you get too far out?

Erg, sorry. Some NSFW language in that video above, sorry.

Aww, I kind of wish they wouldn’t base this on a gentle sea creature. I would argue that real whale sharks—though filter feeders—are still far bigger than ourselves and therefore very capable of delivering fatal (meelee) blows to a human if we so happen to get on the wrong end of it.

Still, would’ve preferred if it was based off megaladon.

what? nobody? ok, I’ll say it…

“We’re gonna need a bigger boat.”

With the flexibility of the new pet system, they should finally create aquatic pet families. Unfortunately, the skull means this particular beast will never be tamable.

    WANT TO TAME!

    (without shrinking!)

  11. Zball on July 24th, 2010 6:05 am

That’s probably the largest mob I have ever seen.

  12. Stormovik on July 24th, 2010 6:22 am

    But is it tameable?

    :-D

  13. Narian on July 24th, 2010 9:49 am

That thing could swallow a pally whole, bubble and all.

  14. Gimmlette on July 24th, 2010 10:01 am

Oh man, another reason not to go back into the water.

  15. Namaria on July 24th, 2010 10:57 am

I can’t wait to see that thing for myself!

  16. Dreyja on July 24th, 2010 12:08 pm

@ bear pelt – Megaladon would be AMAZING. In the video you can actually see that they’ve added some weird jagged teeth in the mouth. :(

They are so powerful though it’s almost as if it just leisurely flicked a flipper and smacked you into oblivion. Not all creatures need teeth to mess you up!

The question I want an answer to is….why won’t it tame!!!??? I’d feed it as many gnomes as it would take to persuade that lovely beautiful beast.
