Welcome to another Big Red Kitty on WoWInsider Hunter Guide Movie! Today's movie: The Lurker Below in Serpentshrine Cavern! Notice that we've got Hobbes on the inner ring and we're on the outer ring. We're holding Hobbes back until the main tank gets agro. And he's gonna get enough -- and there! -- we send Hobbes after him. We're going to leave Hobbes attacking him the entire time except when the adds come, right? Right! Why can we do that? Because Hobbes is immune to the Spout. Isn't that nice? Isn't that great? It's wonderful. It's a beautiful thing. We keep attacking, attacking the entire time. Eventually, the adds will come. We will use our pet on the adds. We will attack the adds on our ring. We're going to trap one, actually right where we're standing and we'll burn down the other. Then we'll burn the one we trapped and then help out Hobbes and burn down the one closest to us on the inner ring. Complex? A little bit. Hard? Not too hard. You'll watch us and you'll be able to do it, too. Alright, he's going to do his Spout. [Spout Begins] There he goes! We just have to be in the water. It passes over our head and we jump back out and we keep up our MQoSRDPS (tm). At this point, we're just waiting to see the timer tell us how long it is until he submerges. When he submerges, the adds come. Ah! There it is. "Submerge in 30 Seconds." So we've got another 30 seconds of beating him down until the adds come and we'll be ready for that. Watch and learn. Alright, "Submerge in 15 Seconds." We'll get ready to drop our trap right where we're standing. [Knockback Hits] Oops... our platform got knocked back. That's OK, get back to where we need to be. Drop our trap. [Adds Spawn] See that add running up there on the right side? We're going to target it. We're going to do our Pet Attack macro. And as soon as he's able to be targetted, Hobbes will attack him. We're going to trap the one on the right. We're also going to sheep it. Double protection. We're going to burn down the one on the left. Now... if we're sheeping it, why are we also trapping it? Well... the mage might die. And if we're trapping it, why are we sheeping it? Well... the hunter might die. Double protection keeps us alive. We're going to take down the one on the left, and ... down he goes. {Poof} she's down, and we target the other one. We're going to bring him down. Notice at the exact time we burning down our adds, Hobbes is helping everyone burn the one on the inner ring down. And we're doing our Kill Commands because they're definitely providing extra DPS against those adds up there. It's very important to get those adds down as fast as we can. [Lurker Returns] And... Lurker's just kind of hanging out there. Alright, let's get this add down before Lurker attacks us again. Hurry, hurry, hurry! He's down. Hobbes retuns to his "Stay" position, and Lurker's ready to go. And he takes his "Deep Breath". We don't know which way he's going to spin, so we hop in the water. [Spout Begins] Alright, he's going the other way. We're in the water. We can take a bit of the fire water [ed., Scalding Water]. It's OK. We've got healers. We'll be alright. And 'round-and-'round-and-'round he goes. OH MY GOD! He killed the mage. Alright, we've got to remember that. We cannot forget our trap. He nuked our mage. Don't know what was going on, but.... Alright, keep going DPS and then again we're going to wait for another Spout and we're going to wait for more adds and we repeat this maneuver over and over until Lurker's a big pile of dead fish, right? Right! Now you might be thinking that BRK is using some kind of fancy-schmancy 500-line castsequence macro, but... no... we're just doing this all manually. We're trying not to clip our "Auto Shot" and we're doing our manual "Kill Command" and we're doing this for two reasons. One, we prefer not to use the macro. We like to be able to control our shot rotation and manipulate it and change it based upon our surroundings and the crowd control around us. And, two, we want you to realize that you don't have to use one of those macros to do lots of damage. We're going to break 1,000 DPS on this fight and we're not using a macro. You don't have to, either. [Next Spout] Again, we stay in the water while he's spouting and then we pop right out. We're using a strafe there in case you couldn't notice. "Q" key if you haven't changed your bindings. "Q" [out] and "E" [in]. "E" is strafe right and "Q" is strafe left. And it just pops in and out while you jump. You don't have to run forward and back. It's very simple. You just strafe on and off the platform. You'll be fine. "Submerge in 5 Seconds." We're going to get ready to drop our trap. We lost our mage. We can't forget it, right? [Submerge] There he goes down. Drop our trap. Target the add on the inner ring. Send Hobbes as soon as he's available. And me and the Boomkin are going to take out these guys all by ourselves without a mage. He we go. Oh, look! We got a pally helping us out! And we got some trees helping us out. That's quite a little convention going on up there. How pretty. How nice. Alright, he's down. Go to the trapped mob. Take him out, too. "Kill Command". Keep popping them. Down, down, down! Go, go, go! Get rid of this add. Don't hurt our trees! Alright, he's down. He's got DoTs. He's going away. We can move up and help finish off the other one. There we go. Good trees. They sacrificed themselves for the raid. Very nice. Let's get him down before Lurker comes. [Lurker Returns] Here comes Lurker. And we can attack him immediately again. And Hobbes can attack immediately again. That's right, we've got to hop in the water for the Spout. There it goes, right over our head. And -- poof! -- over our head, and strafe jump out. Keep up the damage and get Hobbes back in there. Forgot to send him the first time. Inevitably, we get questsions about what add-ons we're using. On the top left -- the blue rectangles -- is CTRaidAssist. You can see the main tanks targets list there kind of offset to the southeast. You can see Omen [threat meter] on the right hand side, center. You can see the main tank on the top. He's green so we know he's got agro and we're fine. Right beneath us on the left you can see Karthaus Hunter Timers. On the righthand side [below us] is CooldownTimers2. We use both of those to make sure we're using our trinkets and our cooldowns properly. DeadlyBossMods above and below Omen keeping track of everything and sending us messages. Our action bars are Bartender3 and CyCircled. We got ChatMod taking care of all the chat stuff. Scrolling Combat Text is showing us our damage and the pet's damage and all that goodness. And our unit frames are Perl. Just Perl, not XPerl. Now you've noticed that the red person on our Omen is us. We're not using "Feign Death". We don't need to. This fight is unique in that Lurker will only attack directly those people on the inner ring. So we're out here. We can do as much damage as we want. We can pass the main tank. You can see someone on top in purple. That's a warlock. He passed the main tank. But he's not on the inner ring, so Lurker will not attack him. That's fine. That's why we're not feigning death out here. [Submerge] And The Lurker Below lurks below. We drop our trap. We target the add on the right. We send out pet as soon as he can. Go, Hobbes, go! We trap on the right. We attack on the left. Maybe this'll be the last set of adds we have to do and we can kill this boss. Wouldn't that be nice? Come on! Let's burn 'em down. "Kill Commands". Everything we've got. Throw it at 'em. [Platform adds both die.] OK... let's get the inner ring guy. Burn him down before Lurker comes back and try to finish this fight off. Alright... here we go. [Lurker Returns] Lurker's up. Target. Fire immediately. Go, Hobbes, go! Get in the water. Go, go, go! Spout passes over our heads. Strafe and jump back onto the platform. Keep applying our Hunter wonderful DPS. This guy should be toast any second. Let's burn every cooldown we've got and throw everything -- including the kitchen sink -- at him and get this fight over with. Is this the only way to do this fight? No... you can switch around how you do the adds or whatever. [Lurker Dies!] This shows you how you can use your pet the entire time the fight is going on. You don't have to have him on your ring and save him only for the adds. If you've got any questions, please add them to the comments and we'll see what we can do to answer them. Thank you very much for watching this Big Red Kitty on WoWInsider production!
